Warren man gets 7 years for assaulting bailiff

WARREN — A 24-year-old city man was sentenced to seven years in prison today for head-butting a Warren Municipal Court bailiff in the head last October, causing a laceration that required seven stitches.

James D Fudge, 24, of Prospect Street pleaded guilty earlier to felonious assault and could have gotten up to eight years in jail.

The bailiff was removing Fudge's handcuffs in a holding cell at the Trumbull County jail after taking Fudge there from the court at the time of the assault.
