Market Street bridge traffic to be one lane in each direction

YOUNGSTOWN — Effective Friday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the Market Street Bridge, said Charles Shasho, the city’s deputy director of public works.

The Northbound lanes of the bridge will be closed and traffic rerouted to the west side of the span, he said. Also, the sidewalks on the East Side of the bridge will be closed.

The closures are necessitated by bridge painting and deck joint repair.
