What’s all the fuss about? A little boy who will be king.
Prince George turned 1 Tuesday. While he may be too young to appreciate it, the milestone is causing a nationwide frenzy.
Editorial writers call him a symbol of hope, newspaper headlines hail him as “Gorgeous George” and one published a 24-page glossy magazine chronicling his first 12 months. Prince William and his wife, Kate, planned a small party at Kensington Palace.
Harrison memorial tree killed by beetles
LOS ANGELES
A tree planted in Los Angeles to honor former Beatle George Harrison has been killed — by beetles.
Councilman Tom LaBonge says the pine grew to more than 12 feet tall before succumbing to a bark beetle infestation.
The tree was removed last month. LaBonge says it will be replanted in the fall.
After Harrison’s 2001 death in Los Angeles, the pine was planted near Griffith Observatory.
