v “Hot L Baltimore” (1975): Continuing his trailblazing ways, Norman Lear (“All in the Family”) tried to adopt the risque Off-Broadway play set in a seedy Maryland hotel to the small screen. But 40 years ago, TV was not ready for a show filled with sexual innuendos and R-rated dialogue.

v “Hotel” (1983-88): Based on Arthur Hailey’s best-selling potboiler, this ABC series took place at San Francisco’s upscale St. Gregory Hotel. Anne Baxter, James Brolin and Connie Sellecca headed the cast of regulars.

v “Amanda’s” (1983): Between “Maude” and “The Golden Girls,” Beatrice Arthur starred in this short-lived, Americanized version of “Fawlty Towers.” The actress played the namesake proprietor of Amanda’s By the Sea, a hotel on the Pacific Ocean.

v “Hotel Malibu” (1994): This summer soap opera set at a Southern California hotel was forgettable except for casting an unknown dancer-actress named Jennifer Lopez as a Mexican bartender named “Melinda Lopez.”

v “Magic City” (2012-13): Starz’s “Mad Men”-ish period drama was set at Miami’s most glamorous hotel, the Miramar Playa, and focused on its owner (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who was forced to make a deal with the mob to keep the joint afloat.

“Soccer” (8 p.m., ESPN2): Remember how you couldn’t shut up about soccer a few weeks ago? Well Kansas City’s taking on Manchester tonight, Mr. Soccer Fan. Get on it.

“Bring It!” (8 p.m., Lifetime): Season 2 premieres.

“Extant” (9 p.m., CBS): The twisted sci-fi tale of continues as Molly (Halle Berry) considers telling her husband about her pregnancy. Their robot kid goes to school.

“BAPS” (10 p.m., Lifetime): The new reality series pulls back the curtain on an affluent group of African-American pals in St. Louis who refer to themselves as Black American Princesses and Princes.

Crawl and party in Garden District

WARREN

Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, in partnership with The Garden District, will sponsor the Garden District Crawl and Party at the Porch on Friday.

There will be two guided tours at 3 and 3:15 p.m.

Guided walking tours will leave from the Mocha House, 467 High St. Participants also may explore on their own by getting a map of the Garden District at the information porch at 195 Belmont. Those who get their cards stamped at all of the locations will be entered into raffle drawings for local business gift certificates and products that will be drawn at the Party at the Porch. The last stop will be at the Peace of Hope Garden and outdoor art gallery at 682 Mercer. There will be a ribbon cutting at 4:15.

Party at the Porch will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a picnic.

The event is paired with the free reggae show with Carlos Jones at 7 p.m. Friday at Warren Communty Ampitheatre, 321 Mahoning Ave. NW, sponsored by the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County and TNP.
