Liberty gets bank loan to begin road repaving
LIBERTY — The township has been approved for a bank loan of $200,000 and can begin paving roads this year, township fiscal officer Steve Shelton said today.
The loan is in anticipation of $266,320 in taxes the township will collect on a new road levy next year.
The loan will be paid back over five years at 2.7 percent interest, Shelton said.
The township wants to pave four roads with money from a grant it got last year. It did not have a local share, however, and will use money from the loan for that share.
The roads are Hadley Avenue, Roosevelt Drive, Northview Boulevard and Ravine Drive from Sampson Road to Staunton Road.
