City man faces drug charges after traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was arrested on drug charges at about 1 a.m. Sunday after he was pulled over for making an improper turn.

Reports said police pulled over a car at Rush Boulevard and Clarencedale Avenue driven by 27-year-old Jake Borta of Youngstown and he appeared very nervous when officers talked to him.

Officers found a syringe in a pocket on his door and then searched his car and found a dose of heroin inside his wallet, which was on the front seat.

Borta was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin and taken to the Mahoning County jail.
