Bridge club raises funds for Alzheimer’s Association

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Southside Duplicate Bridge Club participated in an all-day fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, The Longest Day, June 21, the summer solstice and longest day of the year. The bridge tournament and drawings earned $867, which was presented to Helen Paes, center, development coordinator of the Alzheimer’s Association. Organizers of the event were Donna DeNiro, left, and Elizabeth Goldthwait, club manager, who presented the check. Southside Duplicate Bridge Club is a member of the American Contract Bridge League, whose goal is to exceed $700,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association this year.
