Boardman boys relay team sets new record

The Boardman boys distance medley relay team recently set a new record and briefly earned the national record with a time of 10:16.83.

That performance placed second overall at the New Balance National Meet, Emerging Elite.

“What a great way to end a season and three superb careers,” said Spartan head coach John Phillips. “There is no better way for those three guys to end their time here at Boardman than to set a school record that may never be topped.”

Hadley also placed eighth in the 5k with a personal best of 14:40. Burns set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:18, which placed him 13th overall. Finally, freshman Sheldon Broyles ran a time of 11.66 in the freshman 100 which placed 17th.
