Pioneer festival at Pymatuning park

The 21st annual Pymatuning Pioneer and Art Festival will be July 26-27 in Pymatuning State Park.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 26, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27.

This festival features living history displays at the dam, a Civil War encampment, a native American encampment and re-enactors portraying Ben Franklin, Abe Lincoln and pioneer people.

Other attractions include an antique-tractor display, water-rescue demonstration, free boat rides on a pontoon boat, and a pie-eating contest.

Young children and adults can participate in such bygone activities as butter churning, apple bobbing and candle making.

Food vendors and more than 60 crafters will set up sales booths.

Each of the crafters has donated an item for a silent auction with the drawing at 4 p.m. July 26.

Admission is $1 and parking is free.
