Large crowd expected tonight for Girard fireworks

GIRARD

The city is expecting 10,000 people downtown tonight to watch the annual Mt. Carmel Society Festival fireworks display, said Mayor Jim Melfi.

The display draws large crowds every year, he said.

They begin at 11 p.m. after the festival, which began Friday and concludes tonight at the Italian Fraternal Home on West Wilson Avenue.
