A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

July 8

Criminal mischief: A Masury woman noticed someone had used to key to damage her car’s finish while in the 40 block of Mock Street. An estimated $500 in damage was done to its driver-side door.

Theft: A Mock Street woman reported a pair of flip-flops, an iPad charger and other items missing from her vehicle.

July 9

Recovered property: A worker for a West Liberty Street thrift store found her cellphone after thinking it had been stolen.

Theft: A man reported a $150 lawn mower stolen from a residence in the 20 block of Walnut Street.

Voyeurism: An elderly Dresden Drive woman told police a man who’s possibly a neighbor has been peering in her windows at night.

July 10

Arrest: Authorities charged 30-year-old Christopher M. Minadeo of Clingan Street, Hubbard, with resisting arrest while attempting to take him into custody at a North Main Street business on a warrant. Minadeo refused to cooperate and tried to flee, police said.

July 11

Arrest: Police in downtown Youngstown picked up Nicole A. Campana, 23, of Westview Avenue, Hubbard, who was wanted on a felony warrant charging receiving stolen property.

Complaint: A Saul Drive man reported he and other neighbors have filed complaints about dogs that continually bark in the area.

July 12

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicular crash in the 100 block of North Main Street before charging 26-year-old Scott M. Northcott with operating a vehicle impaired. Northcott, of Jerry Drive, Hubbard, had a .212 blood-alcohol level, nearly three times the legal limit, a report showed.

July 14

Domestic violence: Herbert L. Scruggs Jr., 33, of Mackey Street, Hubbard, was charged with the crime after his girlfriend alleged Scruggs had punched her nose while demanding she return his cellphone. The accuser had cuts to her nose and right cheek.

LIBERTY

July 8

Arrest: Police took into custody 34-year-old Scott S. McCleery of East Judson Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a charge of failing to obey a court order.

July 9

Arrest: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Brandi Barr of East Montrose Street, Liberty. She was wanted on a Youngstown warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Auto theft: A 2006 Jeep Renegade was stolen in the 2100 block of Arms Drive.

Burglary: To a residence in the 900 block of Colonial Drive, from which two cameras, a pair of eyeglasses and numerous clothing items were stolen. The loss came to $8,225.

July 10

Arrest: Youngstown State University police handed 35-year-old Dakari Hudson to township authorities. Hudson, of Ford Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Harassment: A Warren woman alleged that while working at a Shannon Road business, her father called and pretended to be with the Girard Police Department while claiming she would be charged with stealing a vehicle.

Drugs: Suspicious activity at a township apartment complex drew officers’ attention before they took Dakota Workman, 21, of Meadowbrook Avenue, Boardman, into custody on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with Christopher Taylor, 25, of Lans-downe Boulevard, Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court. A suspected marijuana pipe and a jar of loose marijuana were found, police said.

Arrest: A vehicle registration check near Logangate Road led to 28-year-old Andre Mason Jr.’s arrest. Mason, of Hadley Avenue, Liberty, was wanted on a felony-assault charge.

July 12

Citation: Officers responded to a vehicle in a ditch near Pleasant Valley Road, then cited 32-year-old Crystal D. Gorby of East Taggart Street, East Palestine, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.

Criminal damaging: A Rose Avenue man told police that as he cut his grass, he struck a large metal bolt he believed had been intentionally placed in his yard. The result was an estimated $200 in damage to his lawn mower.

Harassment: A James Lane man said he received eight such calls.

July 13

Drugs: Police in the 200 block of Goldie Road responded to a woman slumped in her vehicle from a possible drug overdose before charging Cassandra M. Fricker, 28, of Lora Avenue, Youngstown, with two felony counts of drug possession and one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. Twenty-six syringes, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and a digital scale were found; Fricker also had several Oxycodone and Oxymorphone tablets, both of which are painkillers, a report showed.

Theft: A woman reported a $3,200 gold ring missing from her home in the 6300 block of Klines Drive.

GIRARD

July 9

Theft: A $200 bicycle was removed from a garage in the 60 block of Morris Avenue.

July 10

Aggravated menacing: Authorities charged 32-year-old Richard Barta of South Davis Street, Girard, with aggravated menacing and resisting arrest after several neighbors alleged he had threatened them. Barta, who also was wanted on a warrant, locked himself in his home, then refused to cooperate with police, who had to use a stun gun to bring him under control inside of the residence, a report stated.

Assault: Police responded to a possible fight in the 200 block of Elruth Court, where a woman reported having been hit in the chest during an argument related to borrowing money.

Drugs/assault: Authorities responded to a report of someone locked in a restroom at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 713 N. State St., before charging Matthew H. Michaels of Baden, Pa., with assault, criminal damaging, drug abuse and possession of drug-abuse instruments. In an effort to flee, Michaels, 34, damaged two doors and, during a struggle with police, struck an officer’s face, a report showed. Also, possible crack cocaine, a suspected crack-cocaine pipe and a cigarette pack containing a white powder were found, authorities said.

July 11

Theft: A $160 pair of sunglasses and a small sum of change each was stolen from two cars in the 900 block of Krehl Avenue.

Criminal mischief: Someone in the 300 block of Hazel Street tossed eggs at and damaged a truck’s hood and door.

Menacing: A woman told police her former husband has been stalking her, including when he sent a personal item to her as she worked at a U.S. Route 422 business.

Theft: A vehicle registration was taken from a car someone had entered in the 1000 block of North Ward Avenue.

Theft: A set of golf clubs was removed from a vehicle in the 800 block of North Ward Avenue. The loss was about $1,000.

July 12

Criminal mischief: An Ella Street man told officers the driver of a Pontiac vehicle turned around and did minor damage to his yard.

Recovered property: A 26-inch girls bicycle was found next to a trash bin in the 10 block of High Street.

July 14

Damage: A man noticed damage to his car’s windshield while on South State Street.
