Police say a man riding a motorcycle early Sunday faces several charges after he tried to flee from officers.
Reports said police were trying to pull over a motorcycle driven by 33-year-old Theodore W. Helmick of Youngstown about 1:25 a.m. after it tried to pass three cars by driving in the turning lane on Mahoning Avenue near Steel Street.
Reports said the motorcyclist refused to pull over, and actually drove between a cruiser and another car on South Lakewood Avenue until he turned into a driveway in the 200 block of South Portland Avenue.
Reports said Helmick would not get off the motorcycle despite several commands, so he was shot with an electronic stun gun.
A breath test registered his blood-alcohol content at 0.147. The legal limit to drive drunk in Ohio is 0.08.
