YOUNGSTOWN

Police found almost 100 pills and seven bags of marijuana inside a woman’s car Sunday evening.

Deshawnn L. Williams, 25, was arrested about 9:45 p.m. Sunday on two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and trafficking in drugs after a traffic stop on South Avenue near Dorothy Avenue.

Reports said a car Williams was driving was pulled over because of failure to signal for a turn and no license-plate light.

Officers could smell burnt marijuana in the car but Williams and her passenger said although they had smoked marijuana earlier, there was none in the car, reports said.

Police asked the two to get out so they could search the car, and they found seven bags of marijuana and two bags full of pills in the steering column of the car, reports said.

Reports said one of the bags of pills had 67 pills inside and the other had 30.

Williams was taken to the Mahoning County jail. The passenger was not charged, reports said.
