Beggses' 50th honored with celebration

BOARDMAN

John and Theresa Beggs of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 13 with a celebration dinner hosted by their children. They also renewed their vows June 15 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

Their children are John Beggs of Niles and Erin Conway, Matthew Beggs and Terri Fabian, all of Boardman. There are five grandchildren.

The former Theresa Krupa and Mr. Beggs were married on June 13, 1964, at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown.

The couple are members of St. Christine Church in Youngstown, the Charismatic Renewal and Greater Youngstown Area Healing Rooms ministry.

Mrs. Beggs graduated from Youngstown State University and stopped teaching to raise four children. She also worked for Community Center Giant Eagle in Boardman and retired in 2008.

Mr. Beggs worked for General Motors Acceptance Corporation in Youngstown for 30 years and retired in 1998. He is a member of the church’s Holy Name Society.
