Library officials plan to keep the branch at 7680 Glenwood Ave. open throughout both projects, said Janet Loew, library communications and public relations director.

Man to be arraigned

NILES

A North Jackson man accused of kidnapping and attempting to sexually assault a 28-year-old woman who had been riding in his pickup truck in a wooded area near McKees Lane will be video-arraigned from the Trumbull County Jail this morning in Niles Municipal Court.

Hale Burkholder III, 34, turned himself in at the Jackson Township police station Friday, and Niles police picked him up there and took him to jail, according to Niles Police Lt. Tony Johnson.

After the woman was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, Niles police went to the scene of Wednesday’s purported crime, finding and impounding the truck, but not finding Burkholder, Johnson said.
