Tressels host cookout at Pollock House
YOUNGSTOWN
James MacGregor of McDonald and Stephanie Baker of Leetonia, two of the roughly 80 Youngstown State University students invited to a cookout luncheon at The Pollock House, look forward to a Jim Tressel presidency.
"It's like because he's from here, he really cares." Baker said. "He's not just here for the job."
This morning, a steady stream of YSU faculty, staff and administrators filed into the Pollock House, greeted by President and First Lady Jim and Ellen Tressel.
Tressel greeted some by name; others he met for the first time on this, his first official day as YSU president.
The Tressels opened their university-owned home this morning for breakfast refreshments. This afternoon, about 80 students are invited for a lunch cookout and later, members of university boards are invited to the home.
