YSU men lose at Oakland


ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Travis Bader had 26 points and Kahlil Felder hit two free throws with 4 seconds left Friday night to lift Oakland over Youngstown State 86-85.

Bader made five 3-pointers to bring his career total to 455. Oakland visits Milwaukee on Sunday where Bader will have a chance to surpass J.J. Reddick’s NCAA record of 457.

Oakland (9-14, 4-4 Horizon League) trailed by as much as 11 points early in the second half and used a 9-0 run to tie the game 65-65.

Bader’s 3-pointer with 5:01 left put the Grizzlies up 80-72, but Youngstown State (13-10, 4-4) answered with a 13-4 run capped by Kendrick Perry’s free throws with 9 seconds left to take an 85-84 lead.

Felder drove coast-to-coast and drew a shooting foul with 4 seconds left. He made both free throws to put the Grizzlies back on top and Perry’s half-court shot missed as time expired.
