POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Jan. 25

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a shed in the 200 block of Grandview Avenue and removed a pressure washer.

Assault: A student at Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave., reported having been assaulted during a basketball game.

Jan. 26

Burglary: Someone entered a residence in the 200 block of East Liberty Street and damaged a basement door, though it appeared nothing was taken.

Jan. 29

Theft: A man on four occasions stole vodka and wine that totaled $94 from a Shell True North gas station, 204 W. Liberty St.

LIBERTY

Jan. 25

Domestic violence: A 16-year-old township girl faced charges of domestic violence and being an unruly juvenile after her mother alleged the teen had kicked and charged at her during an argument.

Burglary: To a townhouse in the 4000 block of Jefferson Court after two men entered via the front door. A laptop computer and a 55-inch flat-screen TV were removed.

Criminal mischief: A woman in the 4000 block of Jefferson Court saw that someone had placed tree branches on top of her vehicle and pried the hubcaps without removing them.

Harassment: A Logangate Road man said he received numerous unwanted calls and text messages pertaining to money he owes.

Theft: Diana L. Day, 49, of Adams Avenue Northwest, Warren, faced charges of theft and identity fraud after $56 worth of merchandise was stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road. Day also tried to pass herself off as another Warren woman whose driver’s license she had without permission, a report showed.

Jan. 26

Arrest: Officers in the 300 block of Yvonne Drive arrested 46-year-old Steven E. Kuhn of Homestead Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a felony probation-violation charge as well as on a felony warrant from Portage County charging larceny.

Drugs: A traffic stop on Belmont Avenue led to the arrests of 20-year-old Detwan M. Walker of Lora Avenue, Youngstown, on charges of possession of criminal tools and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, along with a Youngstown boy, 17, on a marijuana-possession charge. Found was a leafy material on a digital scale that police said Walker admitted using to weigh marijuana, a report showed.

Aggravated menacing: Police answered a call regarding an unwanted person at a Holly Drive residence, where they charged Aundrey H. Fultz, 20, with aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct when, they said, Fultz, of Kenneth Street, Youngstown, threatened to kill the homeowner. Also, he continued to yell profanities and refused to obey officers’ commands, a report said.

Arrest: Police investigated a one-car crash in the 50 block of Redfern Drive, where they took into custody Christopher R. Bliske of Maple Springs Drive, Canfield. Bliske, 28, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.

Jan. 27

Bad check: A Bristolville man reportedly tried to cash a stolen $494 business check at First Place Bank, 3718 Belmont Ave.

Jan. 28

Arrest: U.S. marshals received information that a wanted person was at a Motor Inn Drive motel, where township police took into custody 36-year-old Kevin M. Sabo of Gordon Street, Campbell. Sabo was wanted on charges of robbery, escape and obstructing official business.

Identity theft: A Tibbetts-Wick Road woman told officers a 33-year-old Dayton woman made two fraudulent charges with the accuser’s credit card that totaled roughly $341.

Domestic violence: Daniel Morar III, 44, of Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard, was charged with domestic violence and receiving stolen property after authorities responded to a suicidal person, possibly with a firearm. Morar’s wife alleged that he became agitated and fired a weapon but did not strike her, and police determined the 12-gauge shotgun had been stolen in Columbiana County, a report said.

GIRARD

Jan. 24

Theft: A $250 electronic notebook and a roll of tobacco were stolen from a home in the 500 block of North Avenue.

Harassment: A Shannon Road woman said her former boyfriend has continually made and sent unwanted calls and text messages.

Harassment: A Trumbull Avenue man told police his stepson had made threatening calls to him.

Jan. 25

Arrest: Authorities dealing with a neighbor dispute arrested Ammarr Alhanif, no age given, of Emma Street, Girard. She was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Criminal mischief: A key was used to do about $1,000 in damage to a car’s paint on West Main Street.

Assault: An East Liberty Street woman alleged her boyfriend choked and punched her mouth as she tried to convince him to get out of bed.

Jan. 27

Harassment: A Mosier Road man reported finding unflattering information about him online and a woman, also of the same residence, told police someone had threatened to steal their dogs and burn down the home.

Jan. 28

Criminal mischief: A pickup truck in the 20 block of East Broadway Avenue was found with scratches and an obscenity scrawled into the paint.

Menacing: A North Highland Avenue woman discovered derogatory information about her had been posted on a social-media website.

Jan. 29

Harassment: A Skoplee Drive man said someone posted his name, date of birth, phone number and photographs of his home online without authorization.

Criminal mischief: A truck in the 500 block of Mosier Road had a broken taillight casing. Damage came to $100.
