YOUNGSTOWN

A trip to Southern California probably sounds pretty good right about now, and the Youngstown Playhouse will send two people to Los Angeles with its Hollywood Goes Youngstown contest. Tickets are $25, and the drawing will be Sunday.

The prize is a three-day, two-night trip (airfare, hotel, car service) for two to Los Angeles that includes a VIP studio tour and a private dinner at Il Forno restaurant with Youngstown natives actor Ed O’Neill (“Modern Family”) and former boxing champion Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini. The trip is tentatively scheduled for early March, contingent upon O’Neill’s shooting schedule.

Tickets can be ordered at theyoungstownplayhouse.com or by calling 330-788-8739.

“What a lot of people don’t know is that Ed O’Neill actually began his acting career at the Youngstown Playhouse back in the late 1970s,” said Dr. John Cox, coordinator of the contest.

“It was great to know that Youngstown never leaves some people. Both Ed and Ray were very willing to give back to the community with this event.”
