Church will offer benefit for Heartwalk

YOUNGSTOWN

Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, will host its 12th annual pasta cook-off and wine taste Feb. 23.

It will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Covelli Gymnasium in its school.

Local restaurant and amateur chefs will compete for the People’s Choice Award.

Restaurants are Buena Vista of Warren, DiVieste’s Banquet Hall, Salvatore’s, Station Square, Sunrise Inn and Top Notch Diner.

Celebrity judges are Mike Case of WFMJ; Rich Morgan and Stan Boney, both of WKBN; Bob Coupland of the Tribune Chronicle; and Doug Franklin, Warren mayor.

Amateur wine-makers will compete for the Gold Award.

Advance tickets will be available Monday at the parish by calling 330-372-2215.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $6 for children 11 and under, and $35 for a family of four with two children 11 and under.

Tickets will include a meal, dessert and light beverage.

Ticket prices at the door will be slightly higher.

All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
