Northside nurses approve one-year pact

YOUNGSTOWN

Registered nurses at Northside Medical Center approved a new one-year contract with the hospital after being without a work agreement since July 19, 2012.

Members of the Youngstown General Duty Nurses Association (YGDNA) Wednesday ratified a deal that gives them no less than a 2 1/2 percent across-the-board pay hike.

Also, nurses will get the longevity step increases they would have received if not for the nearly seven-year wage freeze, and will therefore get more than the 2 1/2 across-the-board increase, said Eric Williams, YGDNA president.
