Mother of 6 sentenced to three years in prison for child endangering

A 30-year-old Warren woman was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday for shooting plastic BBs at four of her six children and allowing her brother to shoot them at four of her six children.
Colleen Stytle, one of three young adults living at 1725 Larchmont Ave., has been in the Trumbull County Jail since her arrest in August.
The three oldest children are now living with their father; the youngest three are in foster care.
Stytle pleaded guilty before Judge Andrew Logan to four counts of felony child endangering — charges that said she recklessly tortured or cruelly abused her daughters age 11 and 10 and boys age 7 and 5 in January and February 2013.
The counts involving her brother were complicity to child endangering.
Diane Barber, assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, said Stytle “traded” BBs to her brother for cigarettes and allowed her brother to shoot the BBs at her children.
Stytle also pleaded guilty to five counts of misdemeanor child endangering and one count of misdemeanor complicity to falsification.
The five children involved in those charges include the four involved in the plastic BBs and a 3-year-old girl who was not involved with the BBs.
The children suffered some red marks as a results of the shots, Barber said.
The complicity to falsification involved Stytle telling the oldest child, then 11, to lie about whether the children were being neglected when Trumbull County Children Services came to the house to check on the welfare of the children.
No charges were filed regarding the youngest child, age 1, because that child was not underweight, Barber said.
The two males charged in the case are Joseph L. Boone, 26; and Robert A. Branch, 26.
Boone is charged with four counts of felony child endangering and five counts of misdemeanor child endangering.
Branch is charged with four counts of felony child endangering.
Their cases are still pending.
