Most attempted homicide charges nixed for Pa. man

MOSCOW, Pa. (AP) — Eight of 10 attempted-homicide charges have been dropped against a northeastern Pennsylvania man police say doused his then-girlfriend with gasoline and shot at her before trading shots with police surrounding his home.

Robert Brundage Jr., 52, who lives near Moscow, Wayne County, was in court today for a preliminary hearing.

Authorities allege Brundage was drunk and belligerent after returning home from a party Nov. 16, when he doused the woman with gasoline and fired several shots at her but missed. Pennsylvania State Police troopers said Brundage also fired at them.

The judge dismissed all but two attempted-homicide counts, saying there was enough evidence to support the charges only in the cases of Brundage’s girlfriend and one of the troopers.

Brundage remains behind bars on $1 million bail.
