Giveaway brings call for pantry donations
NEWTON FALLS
For the 16th year Alan Shawn Feinstein of Cranston, R.I., is giving away $1 million of his own money to food pantries across the country.
The Newton Falls Community Food Pantry has participated in this program for several years.
The goal is not matching funds, but instead the more the pantry collects, the bigger the share of the $ 1 million it receives.
Between March 1 and April 30, any donation or pledge of money to the food bank can be counted.
Also, any donation of foods costing $1 per pound or more, with a receipt for it, can be counted.
Pledges can be paid at a later date.
All checks should be made out to the “Newton Falls Community Food Pantry.”
