Daily Beast founder to be lecturer at Mount Union

Tina Brown, founder of the Daily Beast and former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and Newsweek, will be the 2014 Schooler lecturer at the University of Mount Union.

“An Evening with Tina Brown” will be at 8 p.m. March 11 in the Timken Gymnasium of the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex. The evening will consist of a moderated discussion with Brown led by Fox 8 News anchor and Mount Union alumna Stefani Schaefer.

According to the Greater Talent Network, Brown is the highest-profile, most-talked-about magazine editor in the world. From a young writer for Punch magazine and the Sunday Times, she quickly rose through the ranks of the magazine industry on both sides of the Atlantic to become editor-in-chief of Tatler, Vanity Fair, the New Yorker, Newsweek and the Daily Beast.
