Akron 82, Central Michigan 74.

MOUNT PLEASANT, MICH.

Quincy Diggs scored 19 points and had four steals for the Zips. Demetrius Treadwell — who led the team with 14 rebounds — and Jake Kretzer each added 15 points for the Zips (13-6, 5-1 Mid-American Conference). Reggie McAdams came off the bench to put up 11 points. Diggs sank a jumper and a 3-pointer in the final minute of the first period to give Akron a 41-36 halftime lead. Blake Hibbitts led the Chippewas with 21 points and six rebounds. Chris Fowler added 19 points and five assists.

Ohio 58, Eastern Michigan 56

YPSILANTI, MICH.

Javarez Willis hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 28 seconds to play as Ohio rallied. Ohio trailed the entire game before Willis’ big basket, which capped a 12-0 run. The Bobcats were behind 55-46 with 4:20 left. Nick Kellogg also made a 3-pointer during the run and Josh Smith and Maurice Ndour both made two baskets. Ndour’s last make tied the game at 55 with 1:36 remaining. Stevie Taylor led Ohio (14-5, 4-2 Mid-American Conference) with 14 points. Kellogg and Willis added 12 apiece for the Bobcats. Willis made a season-high four 3-pointers on the day. Eastern Michigan (11-8, 3-3) was paced by Glenn Bryant with 14 points and Karrington Ward added 13. Ward was fouled with 11 seconds left, made 1 of 2 from the line, but the ball went out of bounds on his second miss.

Miami (Ohio) 70, Bowling Green 65

BOWLING GREEN

Willie Moore and Will Sullivan scored 16 points apiece as Miami (Ohio) beat Bowling Green. Will Felder scored 12 and Quinten Rollins added 10 and the RedHawks (8-9, 4-2 Mid-American) outshot Bowling Green 46.7 percent to 41.8 percent. The Falcons jumped to a 12-6 advantage and stayed ahead until 3:26, when Jaryd Eustace hit a 3-pointer and the RedHawks pulled ahead 25-23 and led 36-28 at halftime. Bowling Green drew to within four at 12:36 in the second half after Jehvon Clarke drained two treys and Anthony Henderson hit another, but the RedHawks held off the charge and built a 10-point lead, then held on down the stretch. The Falcons (9-10, 3-3) were hurt by 14 turnovers, which the RedHawks converted into 18 points. Clarke led the Falcons with 22 and Henderson had 15.

HORIZON LEAGUE

Cleveland State 69, Valparaiso 50

CLEVELAND

Trey Lewis scored 17 points as Cleveland State rolled past Valparaiso. The Vikings (13-9, 5-3 Horizon) shot 46 percent from the field. Anton Grady scored 13 points with 11 rebounds while Marlin Mason and Bryn Forbes added 12 points apiece. Jon Harris chipped in with 11. Alec Peters and LaVonte Dority both had 10 points for Valparaiso. The Crusaders shot just 36 percent and lost the turnover battle 16-8. Valpo led early, but an 8-0 run by Cleveland State, including treys by Harris and Forbes, put the Vikings up by four at 15-11. A 10-0 run just a couple of minutes later opened things up and Cleveland State led 31-20 at the break. Valpo shot 5 of 23 in the first half, missing its final five shots. Cleveland State scored the first six points after the intermission and cruised to the win.

NORTHEAST CONFERENCE

Robert Morris 74, Wagner 70

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA.

Karvel Anderson scored 21 points as Robert Morris edged Wagner. Robert Morris (11-10, 6-0 Northeast Conference) was trailing by 5 with 11 minutes remaining but went on a 15-4 run to take a 63-57 lead with 6:58 left. Wagner cut its deficit to 71-70 on a 3-pointer by Marcus Burton with 15 seconds left. But after a pair of made free throws by Kavon Stewart gave Robert Morris a three-point advantage, Kenneth Ortiz missed a 3 for Wagner (9-10, 3-3) and Aaron Tate grabbed the rebound and hit a free throw to help Robert Morris seal the victory. Anthony Myers-Pate added 12 points for Robert Morris, which hit 10 of 17 from beyond the arc and improved to 6-0 in the NEC for the first time in program history. Latif Rivers had 19 points for Wagner.

Saint Francis 68, Sacred Heart 66

LORETTO, PA.

Earl Brown scored 16 points and Saint Francis made 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to hold off Sacred Heart. Chris Evans led the Pioneers (4-17, 1-5) with 18 points. De’von Barnett added 14 and Mostafa Abdel Latif had 13.

ATLANTIC 10

Rhode Island 88, Dayton 76

KINGSTON, R.I.

Xavier Munford scored 27 points and Rhode Island shot 62.5 percent from the field. URI’s overall shooting was better than its 57.5 percent free throw percentage (23 of 40) and tied for the fourth-best overall shooting performance in program history. E.C. Matthews had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Gilvydas Biruta scored 15 and T.J. Buchanan added 11. Dyshawn Pierre led Dayton (13-7, 1-4) with 17 points.
