The recommended $404.5 million in state funding for the state’s colleges and universities in the next capital budget, which covers two years. The recommendations head to the Legislature. Recommendations for area institutions:

Youngstown State University: $10.9 million — elevator safety repairs and replacements, $2.5 million; utility distribution upgrades/expansion, $2.5 million; instructional space upgrades, $1 million; restroom renovations, $400,000; Moser Hall Advanced Manufacturing Lab, $700,000; campuswide building system upgrades, $1.5 million; roof repair and replacements, $1.5 million; and campus core exterior upgrades, $800,000.

Eastern Gateway Community College, Jefferson Campus: $1.5 million — health wing renovation, $433,948; general science laboratory renovatons, $169,858; welding laboratory renovation, $723,598; and fire system replacements, $172,596.

Kent State University at Trumbull: $950,000, HVAC repair and replacement.

Kent State University at Salem: $500,000, science lab expansion.

Kent State University East Liverpool: $420,000, classroom building renovations.

Northeast Ohio Medical University: $2,036,750 — HVAC repair and replacements, $1,244,750; roof repair and replacements, $792,000.
