Road tax on ballot

LIBERTY

Township trustees voted unanimously to place a new road tax on the May ballot at a special meeting Wednesday.

The 1.25-mill, five-year levy would generate $275,000 a year for road resurfacing only and would cost the homeowner of a $100,000 house $35 a year, said township Administrator Pat Ungaro.

The trustees will have another special meeting at 10 a.m. Monday at the administration building on Church Hill-Hubbard Road to make the vote official, Ungaro said.
