A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Jan. 15

Drug abuse: Lawrence Schutte, 25, of Cedar Ave., Niles was arrested on a charge of drug abus,e and Heather Haas, 25, same address, was arrested for wrongful entrustment.

Jan. 19

Drug abuse: Brandon Rupp, 20, of Louisville, Ohio, was arrested on a drug-abuse charge.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan. 13

Criminal damaging: An ATV was damaged at a home in the 600 block of N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A catalytic converter was taken from an auto at a home in the 6000 block of Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Medication was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Bad check: A payroll check was declined at the bank from Coney Island Hot Dogs, 31 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Lost or stolen property: Medication was reported lost or stolen at Knights Towers, 107 Westchester Drive.

Passing bad checks: Checks were returned for insufficient funds at Coney Island Hot Dogs.

Warrant: Avery Gale, 21, of Hillman St., was arrested on a warrant for two charges of robbery, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Theft: A fraudulent charge of $109.99 was reported at a home in the 5000 block of New Road.

Burglary: Several items were damaged and others stolen from a home in the 100 block of Rosemont Ave.

Bad checks: A bad check for $238.90 was given to an employee at Coney Island Hot Dogs.

Drug offense: Karie Altiere, 37, of Hopkins Road, Youngstown was arrested on a warrant for theft by deception and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 14

Drug offense: Walter Graham, 63, of LaClede Road, Youngstown was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia, and Wendy Thrasher, 42, of Fountain Square was arrested on a warrant for obstructing official business.

Telecommunications harassment: Information was used and unwanted emails were received in telecommunications harassment at a home in the 1000 block of Moorefield Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Phone calls, texts and emails were reported at a home in the 4000 block of Woodmere Road.

Passing bad checks: A bad payroll check was passed at Coney Island Hot Dogs.

Theft: A Honda generator was not returned at Rental Corral, 5020 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Meat was stolen at Save-A-Lot, 1715 S. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Keith Bolen, 40, of N. Main St. was arrested on a warrant for passing bad checks.

Jan. 15

Theft: A truck tailgate was stolen from an auto at King Kar Motors, 4120 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Batteries and fuel were taken from a truck at Drywall Barn, 408 N. Meridian Road.

Burglary: A garage door was damaged at a home in the 5000 block of W. Webb Road.

Theft: A credit card was used without authorization at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A bedspread was stolen at Wedgewood Coin Laundromat, 4286 New Road.

Theft: A $100 gift card was stolen from a mailbox at a home in the 4000 block of Kerrybrook Drive.

Jan. 16

Criminal trespass: David Higham, 22, of Compass West Drive was issued a summons for criminal trespassing.

Warrant: Erika Fuller, 32,of S. Raccoon Road was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge.

Drug offense: Anna Williams,45, of Bainbridge Ave., Austintown was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Jan. 17

Theft: A propane heater was taken by an unidentified male at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

Domestic violence: Nicholas Davis, 25, of Mahoning Ave. was arrested on a domestic violence charge at Walgreens, 5501 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A man stole Monster energy drinks at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cellphone was taken from the clinic at Austintown Fitch High School.

Burglary: A wedding ring was taken from a home in the 4000 block of Rita Ave.

Jan. 18

Assault on a police officer: Shaqunna Little, 24, of Plazaview Court, Youngstown was arrested on charges of assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest; and Shanese Crafter, 25, of Wirt St., Youngstown, was arrested on the same charges at Denny’s,4927 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: Mark Fabian,19, of Starwick Drive, Canfield; Anthony Ambrosini, 19, of New Hampshire Court; and Jacob Pregi, 18, of Amherst Ave., Boardman; were all given summonses for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Warrant: Brianna Reno, 20, of Woodbine Ave., Warren was arrested on a domestic-violence bench warrant.

Theft: Gasoline was taken at BP Fast Track, 5502 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Razors and over-the-counter medications were taken at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A back pack and medication was stolen at the Westgate Motel, 4493 Mahoning Ave.

Counterfeit currency: A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Jan. 19

Disorderly conduct: Jacob Kocanyan,30, of N. Wendover Circle, Youngstown was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Criminal damaging: A gate was damaged off of Seventy-Six Drive.

Bench warrant: Ryan Mechling, 29, of West Fifth Ave., McDonald was arrested on a bench warrant out of Warren Municipal Court for resisting arrest, drug paraphernalia, drug abuse and possession or use of marijuana.

Theft: A suspect took a television and a vacuum at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Telecommunications harassment: An ex-girlfriend was continuously calling at a home in the 3000 block of Monaca Ave.
