Mooney directors quietly continue search for major donors

YOUNGSTOWN

The quiet phase of the Cardinal Mooney High School new school building campaign has been extended through April.

The school’s board of directors recently requested and received permission from Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown to continue the preliminary phase of a campaign to secure major donations for the proposed building of a new school in southern Mahoning County, according to a news release from the school.

Catholic School Management, a professional and a nationally respected consulting firm which has assisted Cardinal Mooney throughout the process of study and planning for the proposed new school, recommended to Mooney’s board that the preliminary gift-giving phase be extended.

This preliminary phase will continue through the end of April. Board member Joseph Kelty has been asked by the Mooney board of directors to coordinate the remaining months of this phase and he has agreed.
