Donofrio to file for court of appeals seat

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown Deputy Law Director Anthony Donofrio said he will file his nominating petitions Thursday for the Democratic primary in May for an open seat on the 7th District Court of Appeals.

Other Democrats may file for the position currently held by Judge Joseph J. Vukovich, who is retiring rather than seek a fourth six-year term on the court.

The filing deadline is Feb. 5.

Judge Carol Robb of Columbiana County Municipal Court has filed nominating petitions to run in the Republican primary for the seat.

The district includes Mahoning, Columbiana, Belmont, Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe and Noble counties.
