Mindy C. Sierra, 32, of Niles, one of the five people police said participated in a Niles break-in that turned deadly for one of the five purported burglars, has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and attempted aggravated burglary and was sentenced to two years in prison.

She entered her plea Tuesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court. Judge Andrew Logan also ordered her to serve three years probation when she is released from prison.

Sierra and three others were charged with the attempted aggravated burglary and involuntary manslaughter as well as murder.

The murder charge was the result of Terry Allen, 37, of Mineral Ridge being shot to death by the homeowner during the purported break-in.

Michael Burns, 34, of Mineral Ridge, who along with Allen and another man were on the front porch when the shot was fired through the front door, was convicted at trial last month of involuntary manslaughter attempted aggravated burglary and was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

The jury found him not guilty of murder.
