Eagle SCOUT

Max S. Morrow, son of Pat and Cheryl Thompson-Morrow of Boardman, received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor, at a court-of-honor ceremony Nov. 24 at Boardman United Methodist Church.

Morrow began his scouting career with Cub Scout Pack 60 in 2002 and received his Arrow of Light Award in 2007. He became a member of Troop 46 of Boardman United Methodist Church, a part of the Greater Western Reserve Council, in April 2007. Scoutmaster is Eric Grabman. Morrow received his Order of Arrow award in 2008 and has earned 33 merit badges.

Morrow’s Eagle Scout service project included installing a concrete foundation to hold a granite memorial bench in Boardman Cemetery. The cemetery dates to 1805, when Elijah Boardman donated the land to be used as a cemetery.

Morrow installed a new flagpole with a solar light and landscaped the area with perennial flowers.

Morrow is a senior at Boardman High School, where he is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science Club, Spanish Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Model U.N. He was a member of the varsity tennis and golf teams, and had served as co-captain of the golf team. He also is a four-year member of the Classical Orchestra where he plays the violin. Max is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and is the treasurer for the Teenage Conservatives, as well as a member of the Order of the Arrow, Wapashui Lodge.

DOCTOR

Tracey Lynn Febres earned a doctor of physical therapy degree Dec. 15 from Cleveland State University.

Febres is the daughter of Sheryl Apgar of Campbell. She is married to Daniel Febres of Streetsboro.

During her time at Cleveland State, Dr. Febres was president of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Student Association as well as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Ohio Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Febres received the Diane B. Cherry Award in recognition of outstanding professional leadership and demonstrating potential for excellence.
