CLEVELAND

A Johnstown, N.Y., man has pleaded guilty to crossing state lines to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a 15-year-old Austintown girl.

Gary C. Green Jr., 43, entered his plea Friday before U.S. District Court Judge Donald C. Nugent, who will sentence him April 11.

Having initiated their communication in an Internet chat room, Green and the girl exchanged cellphone photos of each other, some of them nude, between January and July 2013, according to an FBI agent’s affidavit supporting the charge.

Green, an Albany University security guard, drove to Austintown and engaged in sexual conduct with the girl in his vehicle in a motel parking lot Aug. 4, the affidavit said.

When the girl’s father learned of the activity and telephoned Green to complain about it, Green apologized and begged for mercy, according to the affidavit.

The case was investigated by the Youngstown FBI office and is being prosecuted by Carol M. Skutnik, an assistant U.S. attorney.

Green is represented by Atty. J. Gerald Ingram of Boardman.
