Poland woman sentenced to probation for break-in, assault with stilleto heels

A 49-year-old Poland woman was sentenced to five years’ probation Thursday for breaking into a Howland home where she formerly lived and assaulting her former boyfriend’s new girlfriend with the stiletto heels of her shoe.

Kathleen A. Fimognari of Jeanne Lynn Avenue, appearing before Judge Ronald Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, apologized to her former boyfriend and the woman she assaulted.

Fimognari pleaded guilty earlier to felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor assault for the 7:50 a.m. May 10 incident.

Fimognari, a nurse, said she and the former boyfriend had been in a “toxic relationship” that involved multiple break-ups. When she spotted another person’s car at his house, she “pounded on the garage window, and it broke.”

She then went inside with a key, where Howland police said she pulled the victim onto the floor and began stepping on her with the heels while pulling her hair and threatening to kill her, police said.

An officer observed bleeding in the victim’s ear.

Fimognari also was ordered to write an apology letter to victim, stay out of bars and have no contact with the victim.
