Members of the police department’s Vice Squad seized three semiautomatic weapons while serving search warrants at two separate homes Wednesday.

At a 2612 Hunter St. home about 4:55 p.m. police found a loaded .40-caliber handgun, and a 9mm handgun was found in the glove box of a car parked there, reports said.

Reports said officers had to break down the front door to get in, and a man later identified as Donte Perry, 22, of Boardman ran into a kitchen and had to be coaxed out with a flash bang grenade.

When police searched Perry, they found $2,686 in cash in his pockets and a set of car keys, which was for the car in the driveway where the gun was found, reports said.

Police also found a bag of heroin in the car and $250 in cash, reports said.

Inside the house, police found a box of .22-caliber ammunition, a bag of crack, two digital scales, a bulletproof vest and some Suboxone strips, reports said.

Also arrested inside the home was Devon Damous, 21, of Youngstown on charges of possession of drugs/heroin and possession of drugs/cocaine. Perry faces charges of possession of drugs, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drugs/heroin and possession of drugs/cocaine.

Reports said Perry admitted the .40-caliber handgun found by officers was his.

Both were taken to the Mahoning County jail to await their arraignments today.

At a 146 S. Lakeview Ave. home where offices were serving a warrant just before 6:30 p.m., officers found a 9mm handgun there, $351 in cash and a bag of heroin.

Arrested on a charge of possession of drugs/heroin was 33-year-old Troy Robinson of Youngstown. He also was taken to the jail until his arraignment in Municipal Court.
