Poland village cops seek information on Walgreens robbery

POLAND

Poland Village Chief Russell Beatty said the police are still looking for tips on the armed robbery at a Walgreens on Wednesday.

Another robbery, believed to be related, occurred on Youngstown-Poland Road at a CVS.

In both incidents, a man brandished a gun and asked for drugs.

The McKinley Way Walgreens robbery occurred at about 6:10 p.m. Beatty said the man passed a note to the pharmacist asking for drugs and showed a two-tone semiautomatic gun.

The pharmacist complied and gave the man painkillers Oxycodone, OxyContin and Percocet.

Beatty said surveillance video shows the man walking through the store before the robbery.

It also showed him coming into the store in the morning. He purchased a Lipton iced tea at 10:24 a.m.

The man appears to be about 6 feet tall, in his 20s or 30s and wearing heavy winter clothing, including a partial mask to cover the bottom half of his face. He also had a black bag around him.
