Trial date is set

WARREN

The jury trial for Derrick Peete, 23, one of two men charged with the aggravated murder of Marco Dukes on Nov. 11, 2012, near downtown Warren, is set for March 24.

A final pretrial hearing took place Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court despite a second request for delay by Peete’s attorney, Heidi Hanni.

A November trial date was canceled after Hanni told Judge Ronald Rice she would be unavailable because her mother was terminally ill.

She filed another request for delay this week, but Judge Rice denied it.
