South Side man arrested in brother's face-slashing

YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested a 51-year-old South Side man about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday after his brother was slashed in the face with a box cutter.

Officers were called to 85 Ellenwood Ave. where the victim, who was not named in the police report, said he was sitting with his brother on the couch and told his brother that he should stop drinking and get something to eat and he was then cut in the face with the box cutter.

The man, Tony Cheirs, of Youngstown, was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a charge of felonious assault. The victim had blood on his face and shirt but refused medical treatment, reports said.
