Youngstown’s first “Five Minutes with the Mayor” is Tuesday

YOUNGSTOWN

Mayor John A. McNally will kick off his “Five Minutes with the Mayor” on Tuesday, allowing anyone to talk to him about anything they want.

But just as the name states, visitors will get no more than five minutes with McNally, who took office Jan. 1.

“Citizens can rant, rave or praise or have a quick cup of coffee with the mayor,” he said.

“If you have an issue that will take 30 minutes, this event isn’t for you.”

Tuesday’s session starts at 5 p.m. in his first-floor office at Youngstown City Hall, 26 S. Phelps St.

“It gives more people access to city hall and the mayor to talk about your concerns,” McNally said. “You can talk about a problem with a nearby property or you’re upset with a department head or want to praise a city employee. It’s first-come, first-served. Whether it takes an hour or five hours, I’ll be there.”

McNally will have “Five Minutes with the Mayor” every third Tuesday of the month, starting at 5 p.m. The next two events will be Feb. 18 and March 18.
