Insurance.com commissioned a survey of 2,000 drivers and asked them to choose the best songs for driving. Here are the results, along with the band and the percentage of voters that chose the song:

v “Don’t Stop Believin’”: Journey, 30 percent

v “Bohemian Rhapsody”: Queen, 27 percent

v “You Shook Me All Night Long”: AC/DC, 22 percent

v “Any Way You Want It”: Journey, 22 percent

v “Life is a Highway”: Tom Cochrane, 21 percent

DirecTV drops Weather Channel

LOS ANGELES

Satellite broadcaster DirecTV, one of the nation’s biggest pay-TV distributors with more than 20 million subscribers, stopped carrying the Weather Channel as of 12:01 a.m. Tuesday after the two companies couldn’t come to terms on a new distribution deal.

DirecTV also said that its subscribers are concerned about the amount of non-weather programs on the network.

In anticipation of dropping the network, DirecTV recently added WeatherNation, a smaller network that also caters to weather enthusiasts but lacks the audience or stature of the Weather Channel.

Beatles tribute band in concert

New Year’s Eve in Ukraine party

The New Year’s Eve in Ukraine celebration will be Jan. 25 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave.

The event will open with a dinner buffet from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by dancing to the Del Sinchak Band and DJ Wayne’s World.

The Youngstown Area Ukrainian Dance Group and International Folk Dance Ensemble also will perform. There will be a cash bar from 5 to 11 p.m., and a champagne toast at 10 p.m.
