A 21-year-old Campbell man faces multiple drug charges following a Tuesday traffic stop during which city police found almost 20 grams of suspected marijuana.
Donnell Macklin, of the 3000 block of Gerwig Avenue, was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instruments. Both are first-degree misdemeanor offenses.
At about 8 p.m. Tuesday, police on patrol noticed a car exiting a McCartney Road parking lot with one working headlight.
Upon stopping the car on Jacobs Road, officers immediately noticed the odor of fresh marijuana coming from inside the car. When questioned, Macklin admitted he had 3.1 grams of marijuana in his pocket.
Police later found an additional 16.1 grams of suspected marijuana, which was divided up and wrapped in plastic bag, and a marijuana grinder.
Bond for Macklin was set at $3,250, with 10 percent cash or surety, which he posted. He is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
