American Girl models sought
Staff report
BOARDMAN
The Kids Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley is seeking models for a series of American Girl Fashion Show events planned for March 8 and 9 at Antone’s Banquet Centre.
The crew needs local girls who would like to model for the shows. They must be a size 10 or 6X to wear the clothing provided by American Girl. There also are a limited number of modeling roles for girls of other sizes, but those girls must buy their own outfit from among preapproved selections.
Show times will be 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. About 50 models are needed for each of the four fashion shows, and the opportunities are open to the public. Girls will be selected based on poise, confidence, stage presence and resemblance to an American Girl doll.
To be considered, girls must attend one of the Model Calls, scheduled for the following dates: Sunday, any time between 1 and 4 p.m.; Jan. 22, any time between 4 and 7 p.m.; and Jan. 25, any time between 1 and 4 p.m.
Model Calls take place in the Community Room, on the first floor of Building C on the campus of the hospital, 6505 Market St. Parents or guardians must accompany the girls and take along the completed application form plus a full-length color photo.
Find the materials needed at www.akronchildrens.org/americangirlfashionshow or by calling 330-746-8712.
If selected, models must be able to attend a fitting Feb. 8 as well as rehearsals March 1 and 8 and their assigned show time. There is no fee to audition, but each of those who are selected must pay a $25 model registration fee, which will be due at the fitting.
All fashion show events in March will include refreshments with a tea party theme, favors, door prizes and raffles featuring American Girl merchandise.
Tickets will be $30 per person and can be ordered by contacting the website or phone number above.
