Youngstown woman hurt in car crash

EAST LIVERPOOL

A Youngstown woman was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital after a multi- vehicle accident on Route 11 in East Liverpool early Monday.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, fire officials said the three-vehicle crash occurred about 7 a.m. Monday between the Calcutta and East Liverpool exits. A southbound lane was shut down so a helicopter could land and take the woman to the hospital.

Danielle Boyer, 27, of Youngstown is hospitalized with injuries that investigators say are not life-threatening. Boyer was cited for failure to control her vehicle.

There was no further information about any additional injuries to anyone in the other vehicles.

New Middletown woman killed

NEW BEAVER, PA.

A New Middletown woman was killed in the crash on Stateline Road on Saturday evening.

The two-car crash occurred at Stateline and West Poland roads, killing Judith Heaven, 69.

Her husband was taken to a hospital via helicopter, according to a statement from the Lawrence County coroner’s office.

The driver of the other car was slightly injured.

The statement did not provide their names.

2 Pa. men indicted

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh indicted two New Castle, Pa., residents on charges of violating federal narcotics laws.

The jury returned the six-count indictment Wednesday against David Jonathan Stouffer, 36, and Robert Yakubik, 41, said U.S. attorney David J. Hickton.

Hickton said that according to the indictment, the two conspired with others to distribute oxycodone from 2011 to November 2012 in western Pennsylvania. The indictment charged that Yakubik did distribute the drug in April, May, August and September. The two could each receive up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted.
