The Trumbll County Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Team will have Martin Luther King Jr. events Friday and Monday.
A youth celebration will be at 7 p.m. Friday in New Jerusalem Fellowship, 2555 Palmyra Road SW. It will feature a gospel choir concert by Pastor Todd Johnson and the Warren City-Wide Youth Choir.
An MLK Day event will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the YWCA of Warren, 375 N. Park Ave., featuring youth engagement and activities led by youth.
Partners in the programs are the YWCA and Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County.
Awareness training

Applications are being accepted for the next class of the Warren Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Awareness Academy Training that begins in February.
Residents can obtain an application from the city’s website, www.warren.org, or by stopping at the Warren Police Department Records Room, 141 South St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The eight-week course includes an overview of police policies and procedures, tour of the county jail, police ride-along, training on use of deadly force in a shoot/don’t shoot simulation, remarks by city officials and county drug task force personnel and information on neighborhood watch groups. More than 300 city residents have been trained.
