Campbell police file drug charges against Lowellville man

CAMPBELL

A 54-year-old Lowellville man is facing drug charges after city police pulled him over Sunday evening for a burned-out rear license plate light, then found pills inside a handwritten prescription pill bottle and suspected marijuana.

Vincent Paul Raver, of the 6000 block of McCartney Road, was charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Police stopped Raver shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday on McCartney Road.

According to the police report, Raver repeatedly reached into his pocket during the traffic stop. Police later found a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in his pocket.

A search of the car also produced a pill bottle containing 91 pills, each with a vague imprint on it. The bottle had only a handwritten label indicating that it contained aspirin.

Both the suspected marijuana and pills, along with $140 in cash, were seized by police.

Bond was set at $3,250, with 10 percent cash or surety, and Raver — who posted bond — was given a mandatory court appearance date of 9 a.m. Tuesday.
