Teacher open house Jan. 21 at Fellows gardens

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning Cultural Collaborative, a coalition of area museums and educational institutions, will host a Teacher Open House from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Mill Creek MetroParks Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

Representatives from area museums and cultural resource centers will be available to answer questions about educational programs, field trips, outreach programs and more.

Participating organizations are The Butler Institute of American Art, Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum, Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Mill Creek MetroParks, OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Rose Melnick Medical Museum, Ward Beecher Planetarium and the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor.

The event is free and open to area teachers, school personnel and administrators. There will be giveaways and door prizes. Refreshments will be served.
