49ers advance to NFC championship game

Colin Kaepernick threw for a touchdown and Phil Dawson made three field goals to lead the San Francisco 49ers past the Carolina Panthers 23-10 in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game.

The 49ers advanced to their third straight NFC championship game. San Francisco lost to the Giants two years ago in the NFC championship and defeated the Falcons last season before falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl.
