Liberty 58, Champion 54

CHAMPION

The Leopards overcame an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit thanks to 12 points from Asim Pleas, who gave Liberty a 49-48 lead with 3:19 remaining. Lynn Bowden converted nine of 10 free throws down the stretch to hold off Champion’s late surge. Bowden scored 15 points. For Champion, Chris Miller scored 18 points, including a 3-pointer in the final minute that cut the Liberty lead to 56-54 before Bowden knocked down two free throws to seal Liberty’s win.

LaBrae 60, Lakeview 40

LEAVITTSBURG

Peyton Aldridge scored 21 points to lead the Vikings. Also scoring in double figures were Marcell Richardson with 13 and Justin Jenkins with 10. Jake Rosowicz led the Bulldogs with 10 points.

Lorain 58, Warren Harding 56

LORAIN

Shondell Johnson scored a game-high 22 points for the Raiders. Lorain held a 28-17 edge on the glass including seven rebounds from Gerald Howard.

Massillon Perry 59, Boardman 52

MASSILLON

The Spartans came up short against the Panthers despite converting 10 3-pointers. Boardman was led by 15 points from Preston Stitt and three 3-pointers from Eric Jones.

McDonald 78, Jackson-Milton 36

MCDONALD

One game after notching his 1,000th career point, McDonald senior Matt Seitz added 21 more to lead the Blue Devils (8-2) past the Bluejays. Brad Woodley scored 18 points and Ken Greaver added 15 for McDonald. Jeff Voland led Jackson-Milton with nine points.

Lowellville 65, Mineral Ridge 63

MINERAL RIDGE

The Rockets (8-1) improved to 5-1 in the Inter Tri-County League Tier Two by holding off the Rams. Lowellville, which was led by Nick Ballone’s 21 points, built a 59-47 lead headed into the final quarter. Mineral Ridge (5-4, 3-3) pulled within one point late and had the final possession but missed a 20-footer. Pat Mangine added 13 points and Cole Beatty and Paulo Depasquale had 10 each for the Rockets. The Rams were led by Corey Phillips with 17, Ryan Nutter with 14 and Zac Hagy with 11.

Wellsville 81, Western Reserve 61

WELLSVILLE

Camden Douglas made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points while Jordan Sloan poured in 19 for the Tigers. Nate Scott also scored 11 points. Thirty-three of the Tigers’ 81 points came from behind the 3-point line. For Western Reserve, Nick Tobin scored 21 points and Nolan Snyder scored 12.

Lisbon 52, Springfield 50

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Trailing 40-33 after three quarters Lisbon put together a 19-10 final quarter for the key ITCL Tier One victory. Austin Rutecki scored eight of his game-high 19 points in the fourth for the Blue Devils. He also had 10 rebounds. Josh Liberati added 10 points and five assists, Avery Andric had eight points and 11 rebounds and Josh Craig had 10 points. Springfield was led by Graham Mincher with 17 points and Jack Ohlin and Mark Schuler who had eight apiece.

United 65, Columbiana 51

COLUMBIANA

United won its second conference game using a balanced scoring attack and a strong second-half performance. The Eagles finished the game on a 44-35 run and held the Clippers to single-digit quarters twice. Caleb Conser scored 18 points for United (3-8, 2-5) and Devin Rice led the Clippers with 14.

Crestview 53, South Range 44

NEW WATERFORD

The Rebels withstood Garrett Anderson’s 19 points and carried an early lead into the fourth quarter before knocking down six of 12 free throws late. Eric Lloyd led the Rebels with 22 points. Dylan Hart scored 11 and Collin Gilbert eight in their rivalry win.

Brookfield 61, Conneaut 38

BROOKFIELD

Caleb Hunkus scored 15 points, Davon Sims had 12 and Nate Johnson added 11 for the Warriors.

Lordstown 60, Southington 58

LORDSTOWN

Preston Sutton and Nick Johnson each tallied 15 points to lead Lordstown. The Wildcats roared back in the fourth quarter behind 22 points from Jake Zolna and 21 from Eric Wilson.

West Branch 57, Minerva 54, OT

BELOIT

West Branch (3-7, 1-4 Northeastern Bucyeye Conference) got 17 points from Kip DeShields, 11 from Jerian Thomas, 10 from Matt Meiter and nine from Dustin Greenawalt. The Warriors rallied from a 39-34 third-quarter deficit and outscored the Lions (2-8, 0-3) 23-15 in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Maplewood 82, Grand Valley 36

ORWELL

Ethan Obradovich scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Rockets (7-3, 5-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference). Kevin Jones scored 13 points while Luke Evan and Solomon Yoder each scored 11. Luke Urchek netted 10 points. For Grand Valley (2-6, 1-4), Jake Vormelker led with 12 points.

Windham 67, Badger 37

WINDHAM

The two-headed monster of Parker Rickey and Stephen Kacenski out-scored Badger, combining for 38 points. They both also recorded double-doubles for the Bombers (4-5, 2-2 NAC) Ricky adding 10 assists and Kacenski 10 rebounds. The Braves were led by 14 points from Brandon Bates.

Girls

Struthers 89, Poland 40

POLAND

McKenna Shives scored a game-high 29 points for Struthers. Shives was 12-20 from the floor, including 5-10 from the 3-point line. The Wildcats jumped out to a 30-9 lead after the first quarter. The Bulldogs (4-8, 2-5) were led by Theodora Constantine’s 12 points.
