State turns shooting report over to Trumbull prosecutor

WARREN

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has completed its investigation into the Oct. 19 shooting death of TaeMarr Walker, 24, of Warren by a Warren police officer and turned a report over to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office for review, and a decision on what action to take.

Jill DelGreco, spokesperson for the attorney general, said the report does not make any recommendations. “We just lay out what the facts are,” she said. “It will be up to the prosecutor to decide what to do.”

Walker was shot to death inside a car on Risher Road Southwest at 1:50 a.m. after Patrolman Mike Krafcik observed a car in which Walker and a female were riding crash into a ditch. Krafcik was with a tow truck driver who was towing a car out of the opposite ditch when the Walker vehicle pulled up.

A 911 recording indicated that Krafcik told Walker and the female, “Put your hands up,” before Krafcik fired. Two weapons were recovered from Walker’s vehicle.
